Room 100 Newsletter
Week of March 6, 2016
We will continue our lenten lessons this week and
begin to discuss Saint Patrick’s Day!
We will talk about how Saint Patrick used a shamrock to explain the Blessed Trinity. We will also talk about leprechauns and try to catch one by making a “leprechaun trap” for our classroom. We will feed him Skittles candy, Lucky Charms cereal and a variety of other snacks to lure him into the trap!
I wonder if we’ll catch one???!!!!!
This week on Thursday, March 10, a local author will visit us! Her name is Alicia Murphy and the title of the book she will read to the class is “The Muddy Foot Prince”. An order form as sent home if you are interested in purchasing a signed copy of the book. Please return the form and money or check by Wednesday, March 9.

*** FYI.....
Due to Saint Patrick’s Day and the Easter holiday being so close this year, I have decided to downsize our Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration. The children are invited to wear green on Thursday, March 17 and we will have a special snack on this day. I am trying to keep it “low key” since we will be having an Egg Hunt when we return from Easter break. ALL will be welcome to attend the egg hunt, which will take place on Friday, April 1. Please mark your calendar. Many question why our egg hunt takes place after Easter Sunday. The reason is that we want to keep things quiet and settled during Holy Week and have the Egg Hunt when Easter has officially arrived! The Easter season officially begins on Easter Sunday and lasts for the 50 days following. Thank you for your support!
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
