Room 100 Newsletter
Week of September 13, 2015
We spent a great deal of time last week getting used to our classroom and establishing routines. With only 3 days under our belts, it will take lots of time and patience to reinforce them. We are all still learning names and faces too!
We added two new students to our class last week! Please welcome Laura Gebhart to our 3 day program and Riley Surrena to our 5 day program! We are now at
18 children total!
Thank you so very much to Mrs. Skros and Mrs. Pollart, who are assisting me and the children with so many tasks! Our classroom could not function without both of you!
This week, we will begin an apple theme! We will discuss the 6 parts of an apple: skin, flesh, core, seeds, stem and leaf.
We will chart answers to the question, “Do you like apples?”
Religion
We are practicing everyday how to bless ourselves. Please help your child at home too!
We are praying the Hail Mary in school every day as well. The children will learn it from listening each day. You can also practice at home!
This week we will begin to talk about Pope Francis and his visit to Philadelphia.
How exciting!

* In the upcoming weeks we will be assisting the children who attend school 5 days with writing their name. I have noticed that many of the children are writing their names or attempting it. We will showing the children to write their name with a capital letter followed by lower case letters. If your child is writing all in capitals it will take a great deal of time and practice to get them to change this. If you are going to practice at home please follow what we are learning in school. Thank you so much! I am thrilled so many of them are already writing and so confident!
