Music Class Information

Pre-k ~ Continues to explore different movement activities and learning new songs.
Kindergarten ~ Learning Long and Short sounds in music. 

1st Grade ~ Students will be starting a unit that will be connecting the characters and events in a story through music.  Students will build hand drums and then design rhythms to be associated with key characters, events or emotions in a story.    

2nd Grade ~ Students are working on creating their own Spring song. 

3rd Grade ~ Recorders and performance!  We are preparing to go to the DE Opera House to play along with the Orchestra

4th Grade ~ Melodies and Math - Creating  Music with Non-traditional Instruments

5th Grade ~ Students will be starting a unit on Bluegrass Music: Toe -Tapping Exploration of an American Art Form 

6th Grade ~ Students will be starting a unit on musical style 

7th Grade ~ Students will presenting interview projects of Jazz Musicians

8th Grade ~ Students are writing Operas based on their choice of one of three Fairy Tales
