NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Monday, January 11 for Conferences! I can’t wait to meet with all of you to discuss your child’s progress. I will go over your child’s progress report and assessment folder with you. Please start thinking about next school year!
Registration will be starting soon!
We are all settling back into the routine of school after being on Christmas break!
Staying up late and sleeping in felt so good! I think we all felt it last week as getting back into a routine was a little tough. We are now ready to get back on track!
Thank you to all who sent in supplies last week! The paper towels, wipes and napkins are all used on a daily basis and they get used up quickly! I appreciate your donations! If you did not send them in, please send them this week!
We continue our unit on winter this week! We got a real taste of what winter can feel like last week and we were able to work on putting on our coats, hats and mittens which can be a challenge at this age! Please work on these skills at home with your child. I know it may save you time doing it for them but they need to learn this for themselves and they really want to do it on their own, especially when they see their peers doing it!
On Friday of this week, we will be discussing Martin Luther King Jr. I will show the class a photo of him and talk about peace, cooperation, and caring for all people. I will read “The Peace Book” by Todd Parr. We will make a friendship snack. Each child will get a baggie with the name of a classmate on it. They will fill the baggie with a variety of snack items for that friend in the class. (teddy grahams, goldfish crackers, pretzel sticks, m&ms etc.) They will deliver the snack to the friend and say something nice to them before enjoying our tasty treat!
Religion
We will be discussing the word peace and how Jesus wants us to apply this in our lives. This will tie into our lesson on Martin Luther King Jr.
