Room 100 Newsletter
Week of November 15, 2015
Tomorrow, Monday, November 16, we will have a visitor from the Chester County Reading Association. Jane Schultz, a volunteer with the association, will be
delivering a bag of books for our classroom to borrow. The books are newly published and are written by local authors. Mrs. Schultz will read one of the books to the class and then leave the others for me to read to the class. When we have read and discussed all of the books, the children will vote for their favorite book. The book with the most votes gets local recognition. The winner will not be announced until early spring. Once I have the books, I will send home a list of titles and authors for you to view!
This week we will focus on learning about pilgrims. We will also discuss manners and how we use them. We will be cooking on Thursday this week. We will be making Harvest Bread to eat at our celebration on Friday at our Thanksgiving Celebration. The celebration is in Room 100 from 10am-11:30am. I hope that you can join us!
I am happy to let you know that after two weeks of using our new behavior chart, the children are improving! We still have lots of work to do but I am seeing many positive changes. Thank you all for your support!
Thank you again to all of you who donated to the Pre K book basket for our upcoming school fundraiser, a Kolbe Christmas!
Religion
Our focus will continue on the people and things we are thankful for. Make sure you check the chart in the classroom to see the responses from the children from last week. I was so impressed with their answers. At this age many of the children copy what the others say but this was not the case! I heard things like I am thankful for my bed, the stars, acorns, a lego game etc.
