Room 100 Newsletter
Week of November 8, 2015
This week we will continue with our unit on the First Thanksgiving but our focus will be on Native Americans. We will learn about how Squanto helped the pilgrims survive the first year in America as well as what foods they grew and how they hunted and learned to fish. We will learn that they built tee pees as shelter and built canoes to travel.
Thank you to those who donated to the Pre K book basket for a Kolbe Christmas! There is till time to contribute if you forgot! Home and School Association will be taking donations through this Friday, November 13!

Mrs. Pollart is on vacation this week to celebrate her milestone birthday!

Activities
The Big Superheroes will make a paper bag tee pee and we will display outside of our classroom. Both Big and Little Superheroes will also use scissors to cut shapes of feathers and make a Native American headband to be worn at our Thanksgiving Celebration. It will be kept in school.

Mrs. McHugh, our homeroom mom will be sending you a Sign Up Genius for our Thanksgiving Celebration through email. Please look for it! We need your help to send in food and other items as well as to volunteer your time in the classroom that day! The children will do a small performance for you at the celebration. It will take place in Room 100 on Friday, November 20 from 10am-11:30am. If your child attends full day you will have the option to take them home with you following the celebration!
