Room 100 Newsletter
Week of October 11, 2015
This week we will continue our lessons of the lifecycle of a pumpkin: seed, sprout, vine, flower, green pumpkin and orange pumpkin. The Big Super Heroes will use the sequencing cards made in school to demonstrate our knowledge of this lifecycle. Look for them to come home this week and ask your child if they can use them to tell you how pumpkins grow!
We have a friendly witch who has been visiting our classroom and her name is Candy! She reappears daily in a new spot place in our classroom. She is watching all we do and say! Candy is asking us to bring in some of our Halloween candy after we go Trick or Treating. She uses candy as fuel for her home during the winter months. She promises to leave us some new toys for the classroom in exchange some of our Halloween candy!
Religion
We will talk about the Blessed Trinity and relate it to a candy corn. We will identify the 3 colors in the candy corn (orange, yellow and white) to one piece of candy just as there are 3 persons in one God, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We will color a candy corn page and display them in the classroom with a poem.
