Prefixes come at the beginning of a word and change the meaning of the word. Prefixes in- and im- mean "not" or "the opposite of".
impossible = not possible or can't be done
inactive = not active, lazy, or dormant
impatient = not patient or does not like waiting
incomplete = not complete or not finished
incorrect = not correct or wrong
impolite = not polite or rude
