The St. Maximilian Kolbe School community believes that technology is an integral tool in education. We employ the latest technology in the classrooms so our students can continue to grow as 21st-century digital citizens according to the National Standards for Technology (NETS).
We are a committed STEAM school. STEAM encompasses science, technology, art, engineering, and math to promote effective and relevant connections to the real world. Every grade will be involved in engineering design classes. Some of the equipment that is used is Sphero robots, Makey Makey circuits, Lego We Do 2.0, EVE 3 Mindstorm robots, and Bloxels video game creation. The eighth-grade students are involved in an engineering class that allows them the opportunity to use solar panel cars and solar houses along with Lego robots. All teachers have resources that can access highly effective media content that connects STEAM career awareness to existing lessons and standard-based curricula.
Every classroom has a Smartboard and computer station. The computer lab is equipped with Dell desktops. All students in grades 3-8 are issued a school Chromebook
Starting in the 2024-2025 school year eighth-grade students will be involved in the St. Max Video Club. Students will write, film, and edit weekly newscasts for the student body to watch on our school tube channel.
To keep our parents current with their child's grades and assignments, St. Max uses the FACTS system. FACTS is an online grading and communication system. Parents can check any subject at any time to see the progress of their child.
We currently use Comcast Cable for our Internet connection and Force Point for our web filter.
St. Maximilian Kolbe School is dedicated to the education of each child in a faith-based technology learning environment and takes great care in making sure all students who are using these tools are doing so safely and productively. Every child, parent, and school employee must sign and adhere to the Technology Responsible Use Policy mandated by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
