The St. Maximilian Kolbe School community believes that technology is an integral tool in education. We employ the latest technology in the classrooms so our students can continue to grow as 21st century digital citizens according to the National Standards for Technology (NETS).
St. Maximilian Kolbe School has made a commitment to STEAM (Science, Technology, Art, Engineering and Mathematics). Teachers were trained, materials were purchased, website have been subcribed to, to promote effective and relevant connections between STEAM and real world relevance to students. Every grade will be involved in engineering design classes. Some of the equipment that is used are: Sphero robots, Makey Makey circuits, Lego We Do 2.0, and EVE 3 mindstorm robots, and Bloxels video game creation, The eighth grade students are involved in an engineering class that allows them the opportunity to use solar panel cars and solar houses along with Lego robots. All teachers have resources where they can access highly effective media content that will connect STEAM career awareness to existing lessons and standard-based curriculum.
Every classroom in grades Pre- K - 8 has a Smart board, a mounted projector and a computer station. The computer lab is equipped with Dell desktops. All students in grades 3-8 have been issued a school chromebook
Starting in the 2023-2024 school year The eighth grade students will be involved in the Saint Max Video club. They will write, film and edit newscasts for the student body to watch on our school tube channel monthly.
All of the teachers at St. Maximilian Kolbe School have their own classroom web page. Important announcements and schedules keep the parents up to date on the lastest happenings in each classroom. All teachers attend professional development each year to keep themselves updated on the lastest technology.
To keep our parents currrent with their child's grades and assignments, St. Max uses mystudentsprogress.com, an on-line grading system. Parents can check any subject at any time to see the progress of their child.
We currently use Comcast Cable for our Internet connection and Force Point for our web filter.
St. Maximilian Kolbe School is dedicated to the education of each child in a faith based technolgy learning environment and take great care in making sure all students that are using these tools are doing so in a safe and productive manner. Every child, parent and school employee must sign and adhere to The Technology Responsible Use Policy mandated by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
