Tree Project
Throughout the school year, the children who attend the will observe the trees on the school property. Each child has been assigned a specific tree and we will go out seasonally and watch how the tree has changed. We will be taking pictures of the trees with the children. Each child is creating a book that they will complete throughout the year and take home in June. Some other activities we have done with our trees are a leaf rubbing and a bark rubbing.
During the Christmas season the children made bird feeders for our feathered friends from bagels, peanut butter and bird seed. We hung them on an Evergreen Tree and watched the birds enjoy their tasty snack.
Periodicaly we read books about trees in the classroom.
The children will be able to not only observe changes in their trees throughout the school year but changes in themselves as well!
